- eat organic, whole foods whenever possible
- cook almost every meal from home and involve Ellie in this process so she learns how to be healthy (you know...the good role model thing)
- work out at least 4 times per week
- watch HGTV obsessively and do everything they tell me to do short of selling the dogs for 'window treatments'.
Which brings me to my next point. I'm all into decorating the house. I've always been that way. I love bringing natural elements home. Having said that - I really don't like stuff that sets around. I have a few things I 'collect' but I HATE cleaning around stuff. And I have a habit of giving away or selling stuff every several years because I can't stand having something and not using it. Most everything I have has to be functional or I go nuts.
So I decided that since we're having some friends over on Friday, I should bring out some of my collectibles and put together a functional tablescape. Our table is one of my favorite things in the whole house. And since I love reusing stuff in interesting ways, we decided not to buy chairs new, but find old ones. Through my past job, I ran into a guy who sold me 6 chairs that were collecting dust in his garage ($5 per chair). As for the table decorations, decorated it with some of my sea glass collection, a few mercury glass candle holders I had, and I tea light candle fish luminaire. The place name holders are seashells I found on the Eastern Shore, and I got the placemats on clearance from Kohls.
So yeah - I new obsessive hobby with ALL THE TIME I HAVE (I say this in an extreme sarcastic way). Let me know if you have any theme ideas (other than holidays...) - I'd love to try them out!!! :D
